Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder marked by a fear of situations where escape feels difficult, often leading to avoidance of public places, crowds, or even leaving home. Triggers include public transport, enclosed spaces, or queues, causing feelings of helplessness and isolation. It often coexists with panic disorder, reinforcing avoidance and limiting daily life.
In our sessions, we help individuals identify and challenge anxious thought patterns. By exploring specific fears, we support clients in reshaping catastrophic thinking into balanced perspectives. We also introduce coping strategies like relaxation and mindfulness to manage anxiety. Over time, our approach builds confidence, fostering control and reducing avoidance behaviours.
