COGNITIVE BEHAVIOUR THERAPY

Evidence Based Treatment

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a psychotherapy that is evidence based (treatment methods that have been well researched and proven to work). The aim of CBT is to help develop an understanding of the problems, map out goals, and develop coping strategies for the future.

The main concept is that there are links between thoughts, feelings and behaviours. By identifying and challenging unhelpful thinking and behaviour you can change the way you think and behave and start to rediscover the pleasure and enjoyment you previously felt.

CBT has been proven to help in the treatment of various conditions including all anxiety disorders, long term conditions such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, chronic fatigue and chronic pain, depression, school and work related stress, women’s Health such as perimenopause, menopause and hormonal changes and perinatal care, anger and many more.
